While the Duke or Edinburgh was admitted to hospital yesterday and undergoes surgery today, Queen Elizabeth dutifully soldiered on with her schedule. Today, she officially opened the new headquarters of BBC radio and television in Central London.
Touring BBC Broadcasting House, she impressed many seasoned journalists with lots of insightful questions and a flawless speech delivered live on BBC news and radio. For this visit, Elizabeth wore a beautiful turquoise blue hat designed Rachel Trevor Morgan. This hat, with a stacked crown, barely upturned brim and hibiscus flowers made of green and blue feathers, is one of my favourites.

(For those of you who are interested, this is the fifth time the Queen has worn this hat. The previous wearings were in June 2012, March 2012, June 2012 at Ascot and on a tour of Canada in June 2010).
