The Norwegian Royal Family might not be first cousins with the Swedish Royal Family but they are close friends. Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Princess Märtha Louise and Ari Behn were all in attendance at the wedding today. Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore the Amethyst Necklace tiara. While I love the coloured gemstones, this is another spiky and rather sparse tiara that I think looks better backed by some seriously high hair.

Princess Martha Louise wore small version of Queen Maud’s Pearl and Diamond Tiara, the same tiara she wore for her wedding eleven years ago. While I love this tiara on Martha Louise, I think I would have preferred her to pull a switcheroo with Mette Marit and wear the Amethyst Necklace tiara to compliment her amazing lavender gown. Elegant and regal are not words usually associated with Martha Louise’s fashion but they certainly applied today. Wow. WOW.

It is proper church manners to cover ones shoulders during a service…so a cape or shoulder wrap is worn for the ceremony and then removed. Later photos have MM without the cape.
Yes it is. Both these princesses look so beautiful for this spring wedding. It’s nice to see some modesty.
ML looked great.
I don’t know. I thought the white lace grim was kind of old lady.
What was with all the capes? She looks like a lace nun.
The tiara and dress worn by Crown Princess Mette-Marit is very beautiful and looks very royal. Hatqueen could not be more wrong about this one.
By the way, thank-you Hatqueen, for the extensive and quality coverage of headpieces at this wedding. You must be prolific to have it up so quickly. I always enjoy reading your informative and insightful posts even if I don’t always agree with your fashion sense.
