Queen Bids Farewell to Scot Regiment

Queen Elizabeth visited Howe Barracks in Canterbury, Kent today to bid farewell to the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders who, due to defense cuts, leaving the city they called home for the last then years. The Queen wore a lovely lilac picture hat with stacked crown and side pink roses. This is a classic hat designed by Rachel Trevor Morgan and I think the style, proportion and detailing looks wonderful on the Queen. We have seen this hat a few times (in March 2012 and at Ascot in 2010) and I hope we see it a few more!

  1. I just noticed on your Twitter feed that the Queen wore 4 blue hats in a row (in between the puple one on Day 3 of Ascot and the purple one today). Is that unusual?

I really like her hat today. It’s traditional and kind of modern at the same time. The flower on the side is lovely.
