Countess of Wessex Attends Military Luncheon

The Countess of Wessex attended The Worshipful Company of Glovers’ Livery Lunch at Fishmongers’ Hall yesterday in London. She repeated the vibrant blue straw hat with lace trim she wore two weeks ago at Ascot. I continue to love this hat- it is a wonderful shape and the lace trim is light, fun and intricately beautiful. I’m just not sold on the dress it is paired with and wonder if whole ensemble suffers from the “too much blue” syndrome that Princess Anne’s ensemble also suffered earlier this week. The hat on it’s own is wonderful though, isn’t it?!

  1. I love this hat too, and like a great many of Jane Taylor’s designs. I would have to say she is my favorite British milliner right now. (Subject to change. I’m fickle like that) Now if Sophie could just find one of those ‘made in heaven’ relationships with a dress designer. Sadly, her clothes are as often ‘a miss’ for me as ‘a hit.’ I didn’t like any of her Ascot dresses.

  2. That is one seriously beautiful hat. I agree- I think the dress would be better in a pattern (a floral?) instead of all-over blue.
