Reader Jelsta forwarded me two royal hats that missed my millinery radar last month (many thanks, Jelsta!). Princess Benedikte of Denmark attended the Copenhagen Racecourse on June 5 to present the “HRH Princess Benedikte Ærespræmieløb” prize. She wore a pale pink straw hat with upturned, rolled brim. I think it might be a pink twin to the navy blue hat she wore in Germany later last month.

On June 29, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester attended the Armed Forces Day National Event in Nottingham. Brigitte repeated the classic navy straw beret we have seen on her a few times. It’s such a great hat shape for her.

I love the shape of Benedikte’s hat; actually, it’s a shape that suits all ages and types of lady and looks good on all of them.
