Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall are visiting India for nine days before attending the 2013 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Sri Lanka next week. Today, they attended a Remembrance Day Service at the Afghan Church in Mumbai. Camilla repeated one of her cream picture hats, this one with an upturned brim on one side and light black feathers for trim. Last time we saw her in this hat, I thought something was off about the brim but this time, it looks fine to me. What do you think?

i DO like the hat and think, in its solidcoloured simplicity, builds a perfect contrast to the busy print.
what i do not like, honestly, are the beige colour of her accessories (shoes and handbag) and the bag’s pattern. in german we would say that the 2 contrasting and not at all matching patterns are ‘biting each other’ :-).
given the solemn motto of rememberance day, i would have preferred her chosing a matching hue of gray for both.
wow, the tone of some of these comments are very harsh And in my view OTT. This blog is about hats, not whether you like the wearer or not.
Indeed, Jenny. A number of comments here have been deleted because the tone of this conversation was getting rather personal. I’m not interested in censoring comments here so let’s keep the conversation to hats, please.
I think this hat is quietly elegant.
The Duchess looks like a mess. The combination of hat, dress, bag, and shoes is jarring and it looks like she couldn’t be bothered to pull herself together.
A mess? Her dress is well tailored, although I agree the print is a little busy. Her bag and shoes tie together – both in neutral caramel which might not have been my first choice but are fine. You might not like her outfit but I do not believe you can fairly say it is not pulled together.
Overall, I thought the Duchess looked smart and appropriate. This isn’t my favourite hat, but I do think it looks good in this context; it is a very plain white straw, apart from the small feathers, so can stand to be paired with a patterned dress. Her shoes would not be my choice, but it could well be to do with comfort – especially if, as reported, she finds heat trying.
I think this outfit is a good choice for remembrance ceremonies whilst being conscious of the tropical heat (and Charles being in White Dress Uniform). The only thing that looks jarring to my eye is the choice of shoe.
I don’t mind the hat from the side view, but the front view makes me feel very sea-sick!
Camilla normally looks much more put together than this, especially at very public functions. She has tried over recent years to look a lot more groomed. Whilst the handbag, shoes, dress and hat do not need to match, this whole outfit looks too fussy & too busy, echoed by Camilla’s flustered look. I love this hat but sadly it does not suit her facial shape. However on this occasion it is the only saving grace. Awful shoes, wrong colour, wrong style. She looked very elegant at the Christening – what happened here? More Grace Brothers than graceful ( Mrs Slocombe – are you free ?)
I really like this hat on the lovely Duchess of Cornwall. Her pearl necklace and earrings were perfect with this outfit.
Love the hat and the dress, very much on keeping with the Duchess’s style, the shoes could have been black or nude> however this is a pair of shoes that she wears a lot, and in the heat of India are probably worn for comfort rather than style, and that’s fair enough on this long tour of India and Sri Lanka.
I think the hat looks lovely and the dress, just something is off about the shoes.
The Duchess looks great. I think the hat issue might just be a bit of a crush to the brim the last time she wore it but this time all looks well. I like the neutral shoes too rather than black which I would normally have worn. I think the Duchess is a down to earth woman who has redeemed herself in my eyes and I really do like her and I think she is great with the Prince.
Cute hat, and the black feather is a touch of whimsy to me, both look very tired and are struggling to get through the day. Hope all is well!
The Phillip Tracy hat is fine… I would have preferred a smaller pill box style hat to wear with the busy print in the dress she is wearing.
I love her dress – the print is gorgeous! The hat is a near perfect match with it, but the shoes – yuk!
