Duke of Edinburgh Observes Remembrance Day in Belgium

The Duke of Edinburgh joined Prince Laurent of Belgium today for a Remembrance Last Post ceremony  in Ypres, Belgium. This annual ceremony commemorates the hundreds of thousands soldiers who died during World War I. Both princes were dressed, as to be expected, in military uniforms.

  1. I have a lot of respect for these men as they observe Remembrance Day. Their military uniforms looked very nice as befitted the occasion.

  2. Philip was part of a lot of Rememberance Day ceremonies this year, wasn’t he? Since he served in WWII, he is a veteran himself. These ceremonies must bring up a lot of memories for him.

  3. Both men look good for the occasion, PL looks grumpy as he always does it seems(like I don’t want to be here) and DE, well he has a far away look in his eyes, sad! I wish him well and many more years yet we all know that life is short regardless of the age and to cherish each day.
