On Saturday afternoon, Princess Beatrix attended a jubilee symposium connected to the 425th anniversary of the Lutheran city of Amsterdam. She wore another one of her metallic black sparkle straw hats, this one with an hourglass crown, a sharply upturned brim and a bow at the back. I prefer the shape of her other metallic black sparkle straw hat (this one, worn on Friday last week) as this brimmed one seems just a little to exaggerated and almost cartoon-like. What do you think of this material for a hat? And which one of these metallic black sparkle straw hats do you prefer?

Royal Hats 
I love this sparkling straw. I’ve never seen anything like this before and it makes a black hat look lighter. I really like the one on the first “here” link with stripes at the top and bottom and rings on the side! I also like the one from Friday.
Love seeing Princess Beatrix out and about. This hat looks like it belongs on the stage to me. I find Bea’s hats hard to love really, but they are uniquely hers.

What I find amazing — and impressive — about pictures of Princess-Queen-Princess Beatrix’s hats is her hair. It’s always perfectly styled. Does she have a hairdresser present just before putting on a hat? The cut is perfect.
PQP Beatrix has style. If one had to pick out her hats mixed in among others’, one could do so. Hers are unique.
Actually, I rather prefer this hat to some of the bigger donuts, but all of her hats reflect her. She never is at the mercy of some random designer.
Princess Beatrix can do no wrong in my eyes! If I were forced to choose, I think I prefer the giant pillbox hat. I always look forward to seeing which hat Princess Beatrix has chosen to wear. She is a very unique hat wearer and I do not think most of them would work on everybody else, but she looks absolutely fabulous in them!

I agree with you – this one is a bit too cartoon like. But in my book, there is little Bea can do wrong!
I’m trying to figure out what I dislike about her hats. seem heavy and weighing her down to me. Maybe it is because they are all so down almost over her eyes. None on the back of her head. I’d love to see a hat on the back of her head and not so flat, but then, maybe her hair won’t allow it. and it’s just me. sparkle is ok. I do like bling. 🙂
