Queen Anne-Marie of Greece has worn four different hats with her mink-trimmed red wool winter coat. As the temperatures drop and most of us are sporting winter coats these days (except for our friends in the southern hemisphere!), I thought it would be fun to see which hat you think is best paired with this winter coat.
Look 1A and 1B: A tall crown red wool hat with sweeping down-turned brim. On it’s first wearing (at King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima’s wedding in February 2002), this hat was trimmed with mink pompoms. On the second outing (at Prince Christian of Denmark’s christening in January 2006), the pompoms were replaced with a wide knot bow and twirled feather spine.
Look 2: In November 2007, Queen Anne-Marie (and Princess Theodora, left) attended the Service of Thanksgiving celebrating Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s 60th wedding anniversary. For this service, she wore a brown wool diagonal crowned hat trimmed with fur around the brim.
Look 3: For her sister Queen Margrethe’s Ruby Jubilee in January 2012, Queen Anne-Marie wore this scarlet pillbox trimmed with a large side bow.
So, dear readers, which hat do you think is best paired with this coat?

Royal Hats 
I prefer Hat #3 because it allows us to see her face better. Hat #1 is lovely in both it’s forms, but it’s worn too low in the first picture. And anything that incorporates mink pompoms is good with me? (I hope they got recycled into something neat). Hat #2 is just sad. But the real star here is the coat! And Anne-Marie herself of course
Definitely the first hat with the mink poms poms. Wow, talk about different! You don’t see many mink decorations on a hat nowadays. Love it!
I think the pillbox is best, the others seem to hide her features and make it all about the hat not her.

Mink pom-poms – who knew?! Love it!
I prefer #1A. I eliminated #2 because it’s brown and the coat trim appears to be black. I agree with those who stated that #3 might be best if its red matched the red in the coat a little better.
The black trim is an interesting feature of the coat, and #1B looks a little naked without more black, even if #1A’s black comes in the form of pom poms.
I think the mink trim goes best (though perhaps not in pom-pom form), but the pillbox shape suits Anne-Marie the best. The brown one could’ve worked if the fur trim had been the same color. The lighter color kills it for me.
My favourite is the second version of the first hat, an interesting shape, and good embellishment. Don’t like Hat 2. Hat three is a nice hat, but doesn’t really look as though it goes with the coat, both in terms of style, and more importantly colour – seems not quite to match, but not different enough to contrast.
I like the 2nd wearing of the high crown hat. Not crazy for pom poms, but the hat itself seemed to go best with the coat. I like the pillbox, but it doesn’t to with the coat. I love the coat and it looks really good on her. Nice to see that she doesn’t have a problem recycling a good looking coat.
I’m sorry I don’t mean to offend anyone but the first hat makes her look like she has a huge square head.
They are all lovely (and I am coveting the coat) but I have to go with 1B. What a beautiful woman, no matter what she is wearing.
I covet that coat too! And I agree that 1B is the most interesting hat.
I also covet this coat! Hat 2 is the most flattering shape but hat 1B is the most creative.
Hat 1B looks best with this coat. However, my favorite hat was Hat 3, but the pillbox does not seem to match the coat very well. I associate pompoms with 5 year old little girls, and I did not like them on her hat!

I like the pillbox, hat #3. The first hat pulls her face down and those fur pompoms are silly.
