Do you ever wonder if Princess Beatrix or Queen Elizabeth ever want to take a hat break? These two royals wear a hat for nearly all of their daytime engagements and I wonder if they ever want to skip the millinery (not that I can ever imagine NOT choosing a hat when there is the possibility to wear one!). Queen Elizabeth’s great grand-daughter, Savannah Phillips, certainly wanted to dispense with her headwear on Christmas Eve while watching the Sandringham Estate annual football match. The photos were just too adorable not to include.

Maybe she thought It should be a pet rather than a hat.
Her grandmother is often seen wearing the same expression in the last photo!
cute
There are a variety of daytime engagements, particularly recently, when the Queen of England has not worn a hat: when visiting the renovations of Kensington on 15 March 2012, for instance, when going to 10 Downing Street before Christmas 2012, twice when she visited Prince Philip in the hospital, when she herself was released in from the hospital in December 2012.
I had been developing that theory that when the Queen traveled in the big dark red Bentley limousine, she wore a hat; when she traveled in a smaller dark green Bentley sedan, she went hatless. When it’s an official visit, therefore, she wears a hat. For other visits, perhaps she skips the hat. Why she wraps her head in a scarf while traveling on the train from London to Sandringham I have no idea. Does a lady in waiting carry the matching hat? It might be needed at Sandringham, after all.
Perhaps Savannah could give her hat to her great-grandmother for one special wearing! Think of of the publicity the Queen could generate!
What a pretty little girl, she is going to be a looker when she gets older that is for sure. And strong minded on top of it…….whoa, she did not want a hat and let it be known loud and clear……………..lololololo.
Cute!
