Queen Margrethe Attends Frue Kirke

Queen Margrethe attended a church service at Frue Kirke to mark the 70th anniversary of the death of Danish playwright and Lutheran pastor Kaj Munk (who was an important figure during the German occupation of Denmark in WWII). Margrethe repeated her oxblood red pillbox hat with black patent leather trim.

  1. Not a hat that I like, it just doesn’t suit her. I don’t like the leather on the hat, maybe something softer then leather…….

  2. Sometimes I like this hat and sometimes I do not. I like the hat in these pictures but not with the rest of the outfit. In some pictures of her in this hat, I am reminded of a hotel bellboy. There is nothing wrong with that…unless you are a queen. 🙂

  3. I suspect the hat was chosen to go with the scarf. I don’t find that a pillbox with the somewhat odd black patent leather trim, coupled with the strangely noticeable decoration on the handbag and with the boots, make for an attractive outfit. Nonetheless, Queen Margrethe maintains a look and a presence.

  4. It’s kinda of meh to me. But maybe that is what is was meant to be. not stand out at this service. appropriate, i would call it.
