On Monday, Princess Benedikte of Denmark attended Hannover Messe 2014, the world’s leading trade fair for industrial technology. For this visit, she repeated a hat that was much loved here on the blog the last time we saw it – a navy textured straw hat with wide, upturned brim embellished with a large grey silk poppy on the side. I love the blue hat paired with Benedikte’s green suit as the contrast seems to bring out the best of both colours. Is this a hat you are still a fan of?

Wonderful, wonderful. How to age gracefully!
I would have liked to see a hat like this and even an outfit in this colour or darker on Mrs Higgins. I feel the stronger colour and the sweep of this type of brim are more flattering to the mature woman. I love it on Princes Benedikte – strong but soft.
She looks great in this hat, I also like this hat and the color is really good on her. Nice combination of colors for her, what a queen she would have made……..very strong lady!
Love it! In previous wearings the hat’s looked almost navy. Today’s dark turquoise shade goes perfectly with her suit.
