British Royals on Second Day of Welsh Trip

For the second day of her and the Duke of Edinburgh’s trip to Wales, Queen Elizabeth repeated one of her wrapped crown hats. This one, in pale pink straw, follows the general shape of a cloche but is wrapped in a diagonal band around the crown in the same pink tweed as the Queen’s coat. Trimmed with a delicate looped bow on the side, the overall effect is both angular and soft. It’s unusual, but I think it works. What do you think?

  1. I like this colour on the Queen – very flattering to her complexion and hair. She should stay away from peach – makes her look waxy.

  2. This is a perfect working outfit for the Queen, and it’s obviously one of the her favorites. She frequently seems to wear the just the dress to investitures and to meetings of foreign diplomats. There are dozens of close-up photos of this hat on Zimbio. I like the wrapped crowns and think they’re note-worthy from every angle.
