Princess Akiko of Mikasa has been travelling in Turkey this week, carrying on the Turkish-Japanese relationships cultivated by her father, the late Prince Tomohito. Yesterday, she visited the Buklukale archaeological site in Kirikkale. For this outdoor event, Princess Akiko sported a tan floppy hat trimmed in a bright pink band around the crown. I suppose it’s a rather touristy hat but I thought it was cute. What do you think?

I think it was absolutely perfect for this occasion.
For a Japanese royal, this is such a change. She’s in pants! And decidely casual! Yes, tourist-y, but a ten just for the shock value if nothing else.
