On Monday, Queen Margrethe of Denmark visited the State Prison Renbæk in Skærbæk to officially open the prison’s new church. She repeated her white straw hat with rolled brim, trimmed with white and red polka dot sash to match her dress (not visible in today’s photos, this hat also features a side spray of red and white folded straw circle flowers). On its own, this hat might be a little boring but paired with Margrethe’s vibrant polka dot shirtwaist dress, I think it works very well.

Love it! Great hat, great outfit!
A lovely summer look for Margrethe. I wouldn’t be in a hurry to mothball such a nice, cool looking outfit.
Here is an old post showing the side red & white folded straw circle flowers. https://royalhats.wordpress.com/2013/06/25/queen-margrethe-opens-museum-exhibition/
Thanks dilomo11 for this link, I like this flower trim. The Danish Queen is tall and slim, so she can carry off bold, bright prints well, and I always think she looks great in the red and white Danish flag colors. I do appreciate that she kept the hat and other accessories simple.
Nice, cheerful and uncluttered
Exactly!
You have to give it to Old Marge, she does get her money’s worth from an outfit. She really does keep trotting them out one after time, whereas you look at Liz (who is supposedly famed for being frugal), and she’s permanently debuting out a new rigout!
She looks great! Nice for the summer.
I like that a lot. Looks very nice with that cheerful dress.
