Princess Beatrix Opens WW I Exhibit

Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands opened the permanet exhibit “Netherlands and the First World War” at the Museum Huis Doorn in Doorn today. For this event, she repeated a navy blue straw hat with fluted crown, upturned double brim and straw band around the crown that tied in decorative knot on the side. While this hat is not unique or memorable in terms of design, it is a wonderful colour, shape and scale for Princess Beatrix. One commenter remarked earlier this week that Princess Beatrix looks her absolute best in blue- between this hat and the one we saw her wear on Tuesday, I’m apt to agree.  She looks wonderful today, doesn’t she?

  1. Blue is quite lovely on the Princess. The second photo of her is a really great picture of her. That could be her profile picture on Facebook. Haha!

  2. Lovely, lovely! I completely agree, blue is her color! Those pearls, with that sapphire clasp, oh goodness, I would wear that all the time!!!

  3. She has a uniform and looks great in it. As much as I love seeing ladies experiment with hats, I really love it when they have their “look”. Camilla has her big hats, Kate has her beret/perchers, and Beatrix has this style. Love it.
