Princess Michael of Kent was also spotted at British Champions Day at Ascot Racecourse on Saturday. She repeated the pale grey pillbox with dramatic ostrich feather trim that we first saw her wear back in June. Since the debut of this hat, I have waffled back and forth between thinking this hat is great fun or thinking it has a molting tail which warrants removal. What are your thoughts on this piece?

I like it, very dramatic. Pillboxes aren’t my favourite hat shape, but this suits Princess Michael admirably.

Princess Michael loves a dramatic statement. I can’t see her wearing a plain pillbox. I would love to see this hat from the side and the back, but overall, she looks good. I almost didn’t recognize her without her giant sunglasses!
