Princess Beatrix at Care Congress

Princess Beatrix attended part of the 5th National Congress on Pallliative Care held in Lunteren on Thursday. For this event, she repeated her black felt hat with pyramid crown and upfolded, double brim. The outer brim is made of black straw (the inner one is felt) and this difference in materials gives a subtle bit of textural interest to this otherwise unadorned hat. As for the pointed crown… it is not my favourite part of this hat. What do you think?

  1. I don’t mind the hat, and I think the crown gives the hat a better look than her usual flat crown does. From the side, the hat looks better than I expected. At any rate HRH looks splendid and happy, as always. She takes such joy in life that it is a tonic to see her. Queen Mxima and Princess Beatrix are always so cheerful and joyous. I love seeing them out and about, even if sometimes I am not a fan of their hats. This time, the hat was much better and didn’t look like a squished toque.
