Swedish Royals Remember 2004 Tsunami

King Carl Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel attended a memorial service yesterday in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the 2004 tsunami in southeast Asia. Queen Silvia wore a navy blue felt cloche hat trimmed in multiple layers of silk ribbon wrapped around the crown and a ribbon rosette. Silvia has worn a number of cloche hats this year and while it is not my favourite of hat shapes, it is nice to see a contemporary royal embrace them.

  1. Queen Silvia looked lovely in the navy felt cloche hat but as it was trimmed in multiple layers of silk ribbon, was the ribbon rosette a tad too much?

  2. I believe that the cloche hat can look very lovely if worn by the right woman. Silvia looks very well in one. I am surprised that Crown Princess Victoria was hatless.

  3. That style suits her very well. I recall the one where there was an antique car meet and she looked lovely in that one as well.
