King Carl Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel attended a memorial service yesterday in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the 2004 tsunami in southeast Asia. Queen Silvia wore a navy blue felt cloche hat trimmed in multiple layers of silk ribbon wrapped around the crown and a ribbon rosette. Silvia has worn a number of cloche hats this year and while it is not my favourite of hat shapes, it is nice to see a contemporary royal embrace them.

Queen Silvia looked lovely in the navy felt cloche hat but as it was trimmed in multiple layers of silk ribbon, was the ribbon rosette a tad too much?
I believe that the cloche hat can look very lovely if worn by the right woman. Silvia looks very well in one. I am surprised that Crown Princess Victoria was hatless.
That style suits her very well. I recall the one where there was an antique car meet and she looked lovely in that one as well.
Here is the link to it if readers have forgotten it. Queen Silvia regally rocked her vintage look with a cloche hat, and this is my favorite cloche hat of this year! The King made a good choice with his white fedora too!

So sad event was year 2004…
Dignified …perhaps the rosette could have been left off.
