And finally… part one of a BBC documentary about Prince Charles’ relationship with the media. I’ll post part two next week.
I enjoyed This Week’s Extras. I can’t say I share the taste in hats of Pierre Casiraghi’s fiance Beatrice Borromeo. One minute she is wearing antlers and the next she has a big dead animal on her head. Maybe I am the only one, but I didn’t like Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall’s ruby and diamond jewels. Sure I get that these are costly, but the setting looked like a knight’s chain mail from the Middle Ages. Maybe that was the whole idea, but I thought it was too heavy.
I enjoyed reading the material in all the links so thanks for these HatQueen. I agree with you that it was wonderful to see Princess Astrid of Norway enjoying herself after her recent bereavement, and she wore a cute black hat. I am amazed that Prince Charles was attending an event to celebrate the 150th anniversary of London’s sewer network this week. I know that sewers are a necessary evil, but royals don’t usually attend such things. Princess Estelle looked as cute as ever learning to ski in Verbier and cheering at the Nordic Skiing World Championships with the Swedish Royal Family. Beatrice Borromeo’s huge fur hat looked like a raccoon was resting on her head, and I thought it was hideous.
It was interesting to read interviews with 3 generations of princes in Liechtenstein and I wish Prince Hans Adam a Happy 70th birthday. The Duchess of Cornwall was wearing some stunning ruby and diamond jewels, but I do wonder why Middle East Royals lavish such jewels on strangers, even if they happen to be other royalty. Are they expected to use their influence with Government Ministers? I was not surprised to read about Queen Elizabeth’s art in her private apartments and how she loves paintings of horses so much, and I am glad that a piece of royal history was saved from the scrap heap, in the form of the Hungarian Hunting Phaeton. Part one of a BBC documentary about Prince Charles’ relationship with the media was interesting, but it seems to me that the Royal PR machine is involved in lots of propaganda skulking around behind the curtains. I can’t wait for part two.
This Week’s Extras made interesting reading once again. Thanks to Scout says: February 21, 2015 at 1:20 pm for the cute birthday photos of Princess Leonore. Her cousin Princess Estelle looked so cute too. Part one of the BBC documentary about Prince Charles’ relationship with the media was interesting. So much intrigue goes on behind the scenes! I’ll look forward to part two next week.
MY WORD. The documentary about Charles and the media isn’t flattering for him at all. Talk about throwing your boys under the bus to improve your image. Disgusting.
I watched this programme on the telly (Part 2 is on next Wednesday). The journalists said a few times that Prince Charles knows very little about PR and he likely had no idea what was really going on in his press office. Not an excuse but all fingers point to Mark Bolland throwing the young princess under the bus, not Prince Charles. The whole thing was a big mess and it explains why Prince William hates the press so much.
