As we pack away winter gear and welcoming spring, it is time to peek at Spring 2015 millinery collections and guess what new designs we might see on royal heads this summer.
Designer: Gina Foster SS 2015: The Riviera Collection
Synopsis: Straw hats with mushroom brims, wave shapes and large saucers round out Foster’s signature beret-base embellished cocktail hats. The collection is liberally trimmed with large silk flowers, chequerboard printed feathers, abaca silk bows and twisted straw ribbons. Romantic, sweeping and soft.
Royals likely to wear these designs: The Duchess of Cambridge, Autumn Phillips and Zara Phillips Tindall have worn embellished cocktail berets from several recent collections. Grand Duchess Maria Teresa has already worn the Como design – I would love to see her in the grey wave Cardini with silk roses and her daughter-in-law Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie in both the minty fresh Andora design and the head turning Recco design . Finally, I think the Anzio slice is a perfect Ascot hat and I would love to see it on one of the young British royals.
Which hats in this collection would you like to see worn by a royal?

The red one on the top row is very pretty. I hope someone wears it. The cornflower blue one on the bottom row would look beautiful on Kate. Maybe for the christening of another baby boy?!?!
I love all these hats and I would take them all! My favorite is the Ponza, top row far right. I could see any of the young Royals in this hat. My runner up is the Cardini grey wave hat, middle row, far right, and it would give the Grand Duchess Maria Teresa (or me) more height. I could also see the Countess of Wessex in it. My third choice is the Lavetto, the pillbox 2nd from left in the middle row. it’s channeling Jackie O, and it would ideally suit Princess Marie of Denmark (or me).
I love every single one of them. I’ll take one of each, please!
How joyful. Thanks for sharing them all. May we see each one on a royal head and review it here!
Ponza for Kate!! Please!! http://www.ginafoster.co.uk/collections/the-riviera-collection/products/ponza
I love this striped hat and I agree Barbara, it would suit Kate.
These hats just scream Kate’s name. Cardini is gorgeous and reminds me of the black hat Sophie has worn a few times, can’t remember the name though. My personal favourite is the Rimini but unfortunately that is way too far away from Kate’s style. But maybe for Eugenie, like Jake suggests?

Love the suggestion of the Rimini for Eugenie!
I also REALLY want someone to wear the Rovello
Love the red and white striped hat. Fun.
The do look like a good match for Kate. It’s like they saw her plainer hats last year and said “Let’s kick this up a notch”.
I love the Lavetto, and I would be happy to see it on anyone, although my top picks would be Mary of Denmark and Marie of Denmark. I think Sophie Wessex would also look great in the hat but it isn’t a design she typically wears.
I’m loving the Portofino, Capri, Rimini, Ravello, Genoa, and Ponza. I would really like to see Kate in the Genoa sometime (Buckingham garden party?) as we don’t often see her in such vibrant colors. Grand Duchess Maria Teresa or Sophie could pull off the Ravello, while Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie should don the Ponza. The Rimini and Capri should go to Ascot on the Yorkies (Eugenie in the Rimini, Beatrice in Capri). The Portofino would work well on so many of the royal women.
I agree completely with what Jake says: April 14, 2015 at 1:06 pm. May I say this is a beautiful collection of hats!
