  1. The Imperial Princesses really excelled in the hat department this time. Keep up the good work ladies!

It was nice of the Luxembourg Royals to share their holiday snaps. They seem a close-knit lot.

I’m not crazy about any of these Angela Kelly designs. I think the Wedgwood blue with the white trim is the best hat and outfit of this group. Reading about her life history was interesting.

The Danish Royals are sure enjoying their ice-cream in Mallorca. It’s nice to see them just being an ordinary family.

The Norwegian Royals look well rugged up, but sadly, hatless.

Queen Elizabeth the Second and corgis go together like a horse and carriage. She takes them everywhere with her. They are a very smart breed of dog, but some of them do have tempers. I recall that she got bitten on the left hand by one of them once and had to get 3 stitches. I found a link to this too.

The Best Dressed list was predictable. Sheikha Mozah definitely deserves a place in the hall of fame.

    Good news round-up HatQueen!

    • Many thanks Jimbo. Yes very nice, love the appliqué flowers, quite whimsical. This style of hat on HM sometimes works for me and sometimes doesn’t. This ones good. Thanks again.

    • Thanks for hunting this photo down Jimbo. I like the fabric of the hat and outfit, but I don’t think this shape of hat is good for Her Majesty. It kind of reminds me of a cowgirl hat. That brooch is spectacular.

      • I like this one better, due to the color combination . . . I always thought any shade of pink and grey go well together.
        Do you agree?

  2. This Week’s Extras was a very good read, as it usually is HatQueen. I liked all the hats worn by the Imperial Princesses at the Florence Nightingale Medal. Princess Nobuko’s calot is so sweet and it’s my favourite hat of that bunch. The new Royal photos of the Danish and Lux Royals are beautiful. Grand Duchess’s little dog is cute. The corgis have certainly been a long-time favourite of Queen Elizabeth, and they have obviously brought her much happiness. I am not a bit surprised about who made the 2015 International Best Dressed list this year. I am especially pleased to see the Countess of Wessex there, because she seems to have tried really hard recently and she has given us some wonderful hats!

  3. Thankyou for the link to the article regarding the (small) BP display of Her Majesty’s outfits, oh how I wish I could be there to see them up close. I don’t ever recall seeing the black and grey ensemble, could someone clever kindly provide a pic from when it was worn……(thanks).
