Found this website that shows the hat is pink with a shawl around (didn’t need that I think): http://www.aparchive.com/metadata/CANADA-NATIONAL-EXHIBITION/0a2840e4e26e9cfceccf17bf3357e03f?searchfilter=Compilations%2FPersonalities~%2FCANADA+NATIONAL+EXHIBITION%2F19617
Still looking for pictures of princess Beatrix on Prinsjesdag 1972: the hat look quite the same
Thanks, Dorie! It’s a lovely shade of pink and the video shows the hat is not a Breton (the brim of a Breton folds up all the way around the hat) but is actually, a Halo brim (a high fold on top that decreases down both sides of the hat).
Lovely lady, but it looks like she just fell off of a turnip truck!
Pretty princess! She is one of my favorites!
What a fabulous Breton hat! I want one! British Princess Margaret wore a few too as I recall.
Margriet looks simply gorgeous here! That hat and that brooch are wonderful.
Yes Jake and those earrings are not to shabby either!
I like this style because it is a big brimmed hat that allows the face to be seen. These should make a comeback.
Yes, it is a Breton! I loved these–hope they return someday. (Uncharacteristic image of Princess Margaret; I would not have recognized her if I hadn’t known it was she. Nice to see her looking so happy.)
Whoops, wrong Princess Margaret/Margriet. No wonder! Sorry. Still a great hat!
This hat style is a “Breton”. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breton_%28hat%29
