Princess Benedikte was Breelteparken in Hørsholmin on Saturday to celebrate the 40th anniversary of a senior’s care center. For this event, she repeated her deep plum felt domed beret with slim magenta stripes and a pair of black feathers. The bright stripes encircling the hat are a simple touch that add bold impact- it’s a small hat that packs a lot of visual punch. While I don’t think the feathers fit with the rest of the design (too large and too dark I think), the colour is beautiful on Benedikte.
I think it is so refreshing to start the week with an unexpected design that we have not seen before at Royal Hats! What do you think of this bold beret?

No, not a fan of this one. I like the color, but the shape does nothing for her pretty face.
I love the colour, and actually I think it needs the feathers to stop it looking like a pudding basin! it’s a good hat over all.
Princess Benedikte looks great in this plum coloured hat, which teams well with the grey dress. I like the feathers though I wish they were the same grey as the dress to tie her whole look together. She looks great in brimless, as well as brimmed, hats.
The feathers definitely save it from looking like a bowl was stuck on her head. I’m still not 100% certain about this hat, but I’m gonna say I love it since Benedikte can pull off hats like this. I especially love how she matched her lipstick and nail polish to the hat; the colors are fantastic for her, and contrast so well with her dove grey dress. Benedikte is certainly an underrated style icon of our time.
I love this. Especially against the great dress. She’s a regal older lady not afraid to push her style limits a bit. I’ve never seen her looking anything but fabulous, with a little bit of slightly scary regal thrown in.

Love the hat, including feathers because they don’t stick out. It may be the lighting but the color of the coat and handbag seem at odds with the plum-colored hat.

I love it! Great colors. Small, but doesn’t look like a beanie. I may be a tiny bit ambivalent about the feathers, but leaning toward liking them. Great new hat for her!
This berry shade is fantastic on her! I’d prefer a brim but the color makes up for it.
Yes it is nice to see a new hat but Benedikte always looks so wonderfully elegant in a brimmed hat that I found this one wanting.. I DO like a brim!
Love the hat – feathers and all, it just seems to pop in an irresistible way. The only thing I’d change is the colour of the feathers. Given the coat on/off event I’d love to see some of the dove grey of the dress reflected in the feathers – but that’s just me
