Catching Up With The Imperial Royals

Last Friday, Prince Akishino and Princess Mako visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. For this visit, Princess Mako wore a simple navy hat with short, rolled brim.

Yesterday, Crown Prince Naruhito, Crown Princess Masako and Princess Aiko attended a ceremony in celebration of national Water Day. For this event, Crown Princess Masako repeated a white hat with flat brim and squared crown, trimmed with a pale blue hatband to match her suit. It’s not going to win any awards for vibrancy but its a smart hat nonetheless.

  1. Both are good hats and outfits. Tiny issue: Prince Akishino and Princess Mako visited Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park on Friday July 29th. Not Wednesday.

  2. Princess Mako’s hat is a good colour for her and it is a simple, classic style, appropriate for a Memorial visit. Crown Princess Masako looks chic in the pale blue suit with matching hat band, and the hat shape is flattering to her. Both hats were suitable for the events and looked good with the outfits with which they were worn. I would like to see them be more adventurous at other events.
