Crown Princess Mary opened the new emergency building at the Regional Hospital of Randers today. For this event, she repeated her grey felt casque hat with leaf trim. Her hairstylist always shows this hat off to great effect and its pairing today with her grey bouclé coat, black dress and burgundy gloves, clutch and shoes topped a beautifully styled ensemble.

We have seen Princess Mary in this piece a few times now- any new thoughts about it after seeing it today?

I think this burgundy Treacy cloche (https://royalhats.files.wordpress.com/2016/02/2012-01-10-ruby-jubilee-1.jpg?w=207&h=300) would’ve been a much better choice and given some good contrast to the rest of the outfit.
This is a very good outfit not a WOW outfit but a somber, official, business looking coat and hat. Mary always looks lovely!!
I’d like this hat better if her hair were pulled back and up
It will never be my favorite, but the Crown Princess looks lovely in this hat. Lovely outfit, too.
I think you have summarized the feelings of most of us (about this hat) in your comment!
Agree, the hair should be tighter
Agree, the other side of the hat is not as flattering
Disagree, Mary may make best dressed lists… this outfit is a little boring and not nearly “royal” enough for my taste.
I think this look would be improved if her hair was twisted into a neat chignon, either central back or to the left side to add interest to the stark rear and left views of the hat.
CP Mary is such a lovely woman. She has an admirable sense of style. I do not usually like free flowing long hair with hats, but this combination worked.
Mary looks picture princess perfect!!!! I love everything about her ensemble, especially the hat.
Very elegant , streamlined outfit! Love this gorgeous “curvette”! Much better than open crowned hats, feathered faschnators or headbands ! Placement is perfect ,too!
she is photographed mostly from one angle which shows the pretty part, when you see the rest of the hat you know why, it is not flattering.
This hat seems to have two personalities – pointy and three-dimensional on the right, rounded and flat-surfaced on the left.
I’d prefer it if the right side were less curved/circular, and more angular – just to create some follow-through from the leafy right side (which I truly love).
I loved it until I saw the back view. Why didn’t the designer cover the whole thing in leaves?!?
I think she looks perfect and I wish I owned the entire outfit from head to toe.
Princess Mary is certainly a pretty woman but needs help in choosing her hats and outfits! While this hat style seems popular and nice on a few other royals, I think it is all wrong for this princess. I feel Mary is always in competition with Kate, and that she needs to find her own, personal style from head to toe!
Sorry but I disagree. Mary has such great style that was established LONG (like 7 years long) before Kate came on the scene.
You know that Mary has been on international best dressed lists for a decade, right?
Just reading October 2016 issue of Vanity Fair and Crown Princess Mary is a member of their Hall of Fame in “Best Dressed”. Only royal for Hall of fame. Queen Elizabeth received a special citation for “Steadfastness in Dress” and Queen Maxima was in this year’s “Beat Dressed” list.
