Trixie looks GREAT in this hat!
Doesn’t she look great!?! Love!
I like it no matter the color! I wish we could see more variety from all our queens. Of course, Max would be the exception. She gives us variety!
Oh, I much prefer the softer look on her. That is lovely! The suit however, not so much.
Is that Princess Margriet in the red suit? Interesting to see that her hat is more like Queen Beatrix’s recent style.
See Queen Beatrix in this hatat 0:24 – 0:26 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n085vxwwsGQ . Note the brilliant egg-yolk colour. Based on the apparent colours of other known subjects in this video, I am inclined to think that this hat and outfit are indeed probably more yellow than the “apricot” of the still in the post. But trying to ascertain true colour from old photos and video is no easy task…
The hat itself is lovely on Q Beatrix, though lacking in features which would make it truly memorable. It’s nice to be reminded that Beatrix could indeed shine in a softer style of hat – and given the linearity of those shoulder pads (which is so pronounced in the video) it is just as well.
Thank you for posting the video–one might never have guessed at the alternative color for the queen’s ensemble! (I think I prefer the peach of the still!) The hat itself looks like a VERY reduced version of a hat that might have been worn (by Queen Mary, for example) at the end of the 19th, or beginning of the 20th, century, where such a hat might also have played a softening role. Interesting to see a softer-looking hat on Queen Beatrix.
A very different look for Beatrix.
