King Willem Alexander and Queen Máxima continued their state visit to Italy in Palermo today. Queen Máxima remained glamorously cool, even amidst sweltering temperatures, in her natural straw hat with gigantic brim. The brim on this hat looks to be a flexible one with Máxima playing with its placement on nearly every outing it has hat. Today it was as formally placed as it can be- low on one side and curved up into an upswept shape on the other. It’s effortless chic at its best.

Máxima looks quintessentially old school Italian classic in this outfit and hat! Perfect for the sun and heat in southern Italy this time of year.
You can tell it’s hot because even Willem-Alexander ditched his black and navy suits for something in grey!

Despite the big hat, “sleek” is the only word that comes to mind for this appearance. She looks perfectly Queenly and yet perfectly able to deal with the heat.
Once again, Max excels with her working uniform. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if she had an Ascot appearance? Think of what she might come up with!
