Danish Royals Observe Flag Day

Crown Prince Frederick and Crown Princess Mary observed the annual Flag Day parade in Copenhagen yesterday. For the occasion, Princess Mary repeated her wide brimmed black straw picture hat with upsweep on one side balanced by a waved brim ruffle on the other.

  1. While I prefer this black hat Mary wore over its natural-colored twin, I think the removal of the feather spray leaves the hat looking unfinished, especially when viewed from the left side.

Marie looks lovely again, but after seeing this hat so many times, there’s nothing new I can say about it.

  2. I miss the cream spray that we saw on Mary’s hat in its previous appearance, but the unadorned hat is more appropriate to the somber event. Excellent looks by both princesses.

  3. Both of these hats are delicious. Love them even more viewing them closer up and from these angles. Even the lady walking behind Princess Marie looks to have a lovely hat on, also in blue (picture 3) in her series. I have been a huge fan of that ruffled brim since the first time I saw it. It is one of the few hats no matter how much I admire them that I wish I could have for myself.

  4. Mary and Marie are both beautiful. Mary is picture perfect as always, and Marie looks so pretty and understated. I like both these hats and these princesses a lot, although I would be more likely to buy a hat like Mary’s. The smaller hats don’t look as well on my big head!

  5. Like CP Mary’s picture hat slightly better in the tan included in the June voting.
Both princesses’ dresses are below their coat hemlines. Is that in vogue now?
