Autumn/Winter 2017 collections are showing up online and while I’m still enjoying sunny, summery days (and food!) in my part of the world, these wintry designs were too beautiful not to catch my eye:

Sharp wool boater with black leather flower trim from Mind Your Bonce Millinery
Teal button cocktail hat with tall ruffle made by Sally Ashlin at Georgiana Millinery
Wool fedoras in the most luxuriously wonderful jewel tones from British milliner Philip Ian Wright
Wonderful beaded crown on this oversized fedora by Jane Taylor
Beautiful sculpted cloche hats- white from Bay Willow Designs and pink from Tracy Chaplin Millinery
Vibrantly hued silk and velvet turbans from Nerida Fraiman
Lovely leaf trimmed powder pink beret base cocktail hat from Rosie Olivia
Unexpected and interesting mix of grey felt and white windowpane crin from Cara Meehan London

And just when we thought Philip Treacy had done everything that could possibly be done to a hat, a peak at his upcoming Autumn/Winter 2017 collection looks like it will feature zippers. Unexpected, and amazing!

  1. This is a much cleaner and better look for this hat and Margrethe! She has over-accessorized in the past, so I’m glad to see her keep it simple and repeat this flattering hat.

I also adore the Sally Ashlin for Georgiana cocktail hat! The color and ruffled fan are fantastic, and definitely something I could see Zara wearing at Cheltenham or one of the British royals on Christmas morning.

  2. ~This hat (and outfit) of Q Margrethe’s is one I am always happy to see again!
~ Great selections from current millinery, HQ – my faves are the Cara Meehan, and the Jane Taylor – which is also very Zara Tindall, now that Shanon mentions it.
~ Gorgeous pic of Prince George, hand in pocket just like his dad!
Philip Treacy may have gotten his zipper inspiration from this famous ‘sixties hat by Yves St Laurent https://a.1stdibscdn.com/archivesE/upload/1121189/v_1065322/1065322_z.jpg
or perhaps there’s some synchronous creativity happening. This Maison Michel (Paris) fedora I found is probably last season’s: https://www.jades24.com/en/product/women/Accessories_woman/beanies_hats/maison-michel-d-hut-virginie_vrgnblck/index.html

  3. The teal button cocktail hat with tall ruffle made by Sally Ashlin at Georgiana Millinery has Zara Tindall’s name written all over it.
