This Week’s Extras

Royal Hats

Queen Elizabeth in a very familiar (and much worn) blue hat for church last weekend at Sandringham. Princess Anne repeated a brown fur brimless hat.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wrapped up their visit to Norway yesterday with some more winter recreation with Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit. William sported the Navy Snow Star Bobble Hat from Gandys London while Kate wore the cream chunky knit Jasmine Beanie from Barts.  Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore the black Caid deluxe cashmere knit hat from Zadig & Voltaire.

And the loveliest red straw picture hat with dancing bow from Australian milliner Louise MacDonald

  1. I’m so pleased to see the furry and knit hats continue to appear.
    >Princess Anne’s simple hat works a treat with the flourish of her romantic cape-coat – the whole effect is spot on. Some younger blonde royals would look also good in this outfit – Zara, Beatrice and especially Autumn come to mind.
    >Katherine shows yet again how to choose a beanie with style to complement one’s jacket, while her companions model the non-stylish options. She is looking radiant in recent pics, and her mastery of winter hat style highlights this so well!

  2. I adore the photos of Princess Beatrix and her grandchildren hanging off the balcony. So charming!

The white hat from Scottish milliner Maggie Mowbray is so stunning. I would love to see that on a Royal head – Zara Tindall or Autumn Phillips.

The red 3D hat reminds me so much of something Princess Margaret wore.

My Grandmother used to have a hat in the exact same olive green felt that is seen in Mind Your Bonce hat. I’ll have to search for it. It’s a little worn around the edges, but a beautiful 1940’s style.

Great “Round Up” as always Hat Queen! Thank you!
