to this day in 1935 when a very glamorous looking Count Sigvard Bernadotte of Wisborg and his first wife, Erica Maria Patzek, left the UK aboard the liner ‘Europa’ en route to Hollywood. Erica’s angular trilby was particularly chic.

They were an elegant couple. I wish people still dressed like this; today’s fashion is sloppy.
Love it!
Very stylish, in a 1930s sort of way!
I had to look up these two royals – today they don’t have the “house-hold” names as does Sigvard’s silver and plastic designs!

Splendid additions to HatQueen’s post, Jimbo. What an elegant couple. It’s too bad that he lost his title because of his marriage, and then the marriage ended in divorce.
Such an assured and elegant couple, both wearing their hats Just So, and demonstrating exactly why hats make a difference. What a hit they would be with today’s street style photographers!
Here they are again, Erika is wearing a different hat. It may be a tad crumpled, but when worn with that much panache,it scarcely matters: https://www.gettyimages.com.au/detail/news-photo/sigvard-bernadotte-is-the-former-prince-sigvard-of-sweden-news-photo/515467816#sigvard-bernadotte-is-the-former-prince-sigvard-of-sweden-picture-id515467816
