The Duchess in the past has been very fond of hats using fabric matching her dress/coat, and I think this one is no exception, based on that tiny bit of print fabric peeking out above the pink, but I was unable to find a full-length photo. Anybody?
Very nice pink boater. Queen Elizabeth has a nice one, as did Princess Anne for her 21st birthday photo.
Today, HM visited the International Maritime Organization in London. She looks very regal in purple.

Pretty, simple and so elegant!
So pretty in pink
Katherine Duchess of Kent had some lovely hats, as you show HQ in your Style Profile for the Duchess: https://royalhats.wordpress.com/2013/02/22/milestone-birthday-for-the-duchess-of-kent/
and this pretty boater is no exception. Actually, there are 3 boaters in Katherine Kent’s style profile.
With boaters being on trend now, it’s so interesting to revisit these earlier examples of the style.
After seeing Princess Diana’s 1991 breton-style hat which featured last week https://royalhats.wordpress.com/2018/03/01/hat-from-the-past-191/ I was reminded of the Duchess’s 1988 red hat in the Style Profile which is very similar, and was featured 2 months ago: https://royalhats.wordpress.com/2018/01/10/windsor-wedding-thirty-years-on// .The Duchess must have liked the style, as she wore a blue version too:
