Last week, several of you noticed that the pale grey straw hat with ostrich feather that the Duchess of Cornwall wore to the Victoria Cross and George Cross Association service was paired with a new ensemble. This Philip Treacy hat has been a workhorse for Camilla over the past years and we’ve seen her pair it with no less than eight different ensembles so far:
Look #1: With an ecru dress and matching jacket with pleated ruffle detail on June 19, 2006, May 12, 2009, and July 28, 2009
Look #2: With a grey silk paisley dress with v-neck ruffle on July 1, 2006 in France
Look #3: With a pale greige silk wool open tailored coat and the dress above on July 7, 2006
Look #4: With an eggshell silk jacquard patterned dress and matching peplum jacket worn to a July 16, 2009 Buckingham Palace Garden Party
Look #5: With a silver embroidered and tasseled eggshell linen wool coat to her nephew’s wedding, September 10, 2011
Look #6: With a tailored beige silk dress with pleated skirt on June 28, 2012
Look #7: With a cream silk crepe dress and matching one-button coat on June 18, 2015 to mark the 200th Anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo and June 11, 2016 for Trooping the Colour
Look #8: With a taupe, grey and cream silk floral dress and a taupe braided trim coat on May 15, 2018 for a service honoring the Victoria Cross and George Cross Association.
Update- commenter JamesB (whose encyclopedic knowledge of British royal hats keeps me on my toes!) cited a ninth ensemble Camilla has paired with this hat that I couldn’t omit. It’s a great pairing.
Look #9: With a grey floral brocade coat worn for a May 22, 2013 Buckingham Palace garden party
