Fall saw some wonderful royal hats this year, thanks to numerous foreign visits, openings of parliament and a major royal wedding. Despite stiff competition, our polls for favourite new design and favourite repeated hat both yielded runaway winners:
Queen Máxima’s dark green Fabienne Delvigne picture hat with upswept brim worn Oct 5 in Utrecht
Duchess of Cambridge’s raspberry velvet percher with silk flower spray and veil by Philip Treacy worn Oct 12
Jump over to the poll for favourite new hat here and the repeated hat poll here to see the results in greater detail. There’s just one more poll before we decide on this year’s top new and repeated hats- see the finalists you have chosen so far at the Fan Favourites page.

These are splendid! Happy 2019 everyone – bring on the hats!
I loved the Duchess of Cambridge’s raspberry percher. I especially loved that she wore the veil down. Somehow makes the look more chic.
I adore Queen Maxima’s hat too. These hauge upswept hats suit her perfectly.
Wonderful choices! Happy New Year everyone,
