sixty-two years back to November 19, 1957 and the first year Princess Caroline took part in Monaco’s National Day celebrations. At just ten months old, she is the picture of charm in a traditional Monegasque folk costume complete with pyramid shaped hat. I wonder how her hat tomorrow will compare?!

I think Princess Caroline’s hat is actually a chapeau niçois (might have a different name in Monaco ?), which is a traditional hat from Nice. Shape is slightly different from the usual one, so I think it’s a monegasque variant.
I am much more interested in Princess Grace’s chapeau. One of the most beautiful Royals ever, IMO. Perhaps this was a very special hat, as the appearance here is the only one I could find. Very nice with the flowers on the side.

I was disappointed that Queen Paola attended an event hatless this week. I do hope royals keep wearing hats!
my guess? no hat
