to this day, 52 years ago, to the christening of Crown Prince Frederik. Princess Margrethe, as was her title then, wore a sky blue Breton hat covered in blossoms on the outside brim edge.

Thanks for those extra photos Angela! This is a fantastic hat on Margrethe, and it reminds me of some of Edwina Ibbotson’s creations in the past few years.
Thanks for sharing Angela. The close ups are wonderful showing the detail. It’s a very pretty hat and color. I like k2classroom’s comment on how it looks like she’s falling in love with her baby all over again. Well said!
In the first pictures I saw the flowers looked kinda random, but in the close-ups that Angela shared they looked beautiful. She looks like she is falling in love with her baby in some of the pictures. It is fun to see since I have only been introduced to them in the last decade. It is nice to see what came before.
Link to Danish magazine that posted this today so you can see the front of QM’s hat in more detail

Thanks, Angela! The hat is covered in silk and the detail of those flowers is beautiful! It’s so good to have a closer view.
Thanks, Angela! This was a lovely look for a young royal mom showing off her baby son.
