Hat Queen would this hat be a blocked beret?
My first thought was: “It certainly looks to be a rigid shape so yes!”
Now that we’ve seen a closeup view above, it looks like more of a turban. Amazing how different a hat looks from different views!

If the color is accurate, HM’s coat is a deep maroon color with the white beret. This photo was apparently “la reine derniere photo avant le bebe.” (the last photo taken before the birth of Andrew.) I hope this is a legal photo.

That must be quite a rare picture, as royals avoided photographers in later pregnancy in those days. I rather like the jaunty hat.
