Zara Tindall was back at Ascot Racecourse today in a pale pink beret percher.

The hat is wrapped in an interesting beigey-pink sinamay mini brim that folds into a loose knot with flying bow tails at the top of the design.

It’s enough of a variation on Zara’s go-to beret percher shape not to look samey and I really like the height provided by those flying bow tails. The two shades of pink also really work here. While I’m not a fan of the dress, it was a brave and successful choice to pair this hat with it as it calms down the voluminous romanticism of the dress.

What do you think of Zara’s pink hat today?

LOVE the hat. Don’t like the dress AT ALL.
I don’t love the dress, but the hat is fun. I don’t get the connection though, this hat looks like a bit of a mismatch to me
Unfortunately not a big fan of this look. Zara has broader shoulders, and this dress accentuates that in an unflattering way unfortunately. I do like the pattern, but I wish they had chosen a hat which pulled out the sky/cornflower blue instead of the beige. As for the hat itself, I found it awkwardly sculptural. Overall, a rare misstep, but it still looked like she enjoyed the day, which is what is most important.
Nice shade on the hat. But the dress is all wrong for her and the hat. She’s too broad shouldered to wear puffed shoulders. The Florence on the hem just increases the emphasis on the wide shoulder. The hat is too severe for this style dress.
I’m giving new Mum Zara a pass on all her dress choices this week. What I love about this is is that she wore a floral hat with the spotted dress, and a structured design with the floral dress. It stops the ensemble being too flowery and picking out the pinks was a good decision. It’s a good hat.
As usual, the styling of her ensembles has been really good. Kudos to her stylist, Annie Miall.
I agree, a good deal of thought has clearly gone into the hat/dress combinations. Zara did just have a baby; some of the comments about dresses not being flattering seem rather unkind!
