Ascot Day 5 Round Up

The only other member of the British royal family to make an appearance on the last day of racing today was Peter Phillips, in his repeated black top hat.

Milliner Jayne Alison’s client in a wonderful yellow and cream feather headpiece with quills and twists

ITV Racing’s Adele Mulrennan in a cream straw Jenny Roberts hat with claret roses and curling bows

British milliner Beverley Edmondson in a braided black hat with yellow stripes trimmed with lovely scroll work and her mum’s dress from the mid 1980s!

And Francesca Cumani in a fantastic ensemble- a bespoke John Boyd hat and Allison Rodger dress

That finishes off Royal Ascot 2021! There weren’t as many royal hats as some had hoped for but the ones we saw were great. What non-royal hats did you admire at the races today?

  1. Kudos to Anabella Millinery for the Tootsie Rollers’ hats — are they really recycled from charity shop hats?! Lady Carolyn’s Juliette Botterill is so elegant and would suit any number of royals. Jayne Alison’s piece is excellent. It makes me think of fireworks! This is the second time this week I’ve admired one of Beverley Edmondson’s creations and its perfect pairing with a vintage (if we can call something from the ’80s vintage) dress. And Francesca Cumani’s ensemble, topped by the John Boyd hat, is gorgeous.

  2. You managed to already showcase my 3 favorites of the day: Charlie Turner in his feathered Glengarry cap, Charlotte Hawkins in her white floral RTM cocktail hat, and Francesca Cumani in the colorful John Boyd cocktail hat.

Certainly lowkey, but still a lot of fun to see what people chose to wear.
