I agree with others that the best part of Ascot 2021 was that it happened, and it was delightful to see all the beautifully dressed attendees, both royal and non, out and enjoying themselves after such a long dry spell. And may I also commend and thank HatQueen for such excellent and timely coverage of each day of hat-wearing, it was truly a pleasure to have these posts to enjoy.
I was mainly just thrilled to have Royal Ascot back, with wonderful hats on royal heads and others to discuss. My winner was Camilla on Day 1. It was a lovely hat by itself, but her whole ensemble was perfect. Just beautiful.
When I first saw it I was disappointed in Zara’s Day 1 look; but different pictures with different lighting and close up to show polka dot detail, and it grew on me a lot. Lovely hat and the outfit was well put together.
Princess Anne made three very nice appearances – not a bad hat amongst them.
And the Queen!
I love all the ladies hats
I thought all of the Countess of Wessex’s rewears were wonderful, but I especially liked Day 3’s with the dark green dress. That one really sang for me! I liked Anne’s Day 3 hat the best and the Duchess of Cornwall’s entire outfit on Day 1 was fantastic!
Sophie’s hat on day two was great, I loved the colour . She is a great hat wearer . I also liked All of Zara’s she too is a great hat wearer. But I have to choose Anne’s on day 3 as my favourite. I love the colour and it is so different for her . I loved the coat with it too..the photo shown of her is great we rarely see her so smiley
For me, The Countess of Wessex and Zara Tindall’s Day 1 hats stood out the most. Both were really fabulous.
My favorite appearance, however was today when Her Majesty The Queen arrived. That was the moment that made Royal Ascot seem like it was back to normal. And the cheer from the crowd for her was fantastic!
You nailed it, Shanon!
Thanks, HatQueen, for all your posts this week! Even if Ascot wasn’t back 100%, you sure were!
