Yesterday, Zara Tindall attended Cheltenham’s Festival Trial day in Julian Garner’s ‘Voyage’ hat, a black felt blocked beret with iridescent film looped bow. She was joined by her eldest daughter Mia who sported a darling dark bandeau with tan ruffled flower.
Also yesterday, Crown Princess Kiko wore a black felt brimmed hat with upturned brim and pinstriped ribbon hatband for Team Japan’s scaled down Olympic Union Ceremony.

Mia certainly has grown up since I last had a look at her! What a bundle of energy she is! I think her first headpiece is perfect for her. It doesn’t get messed up if she runs pell-mell down the street! And Princess Victoria Romanovna’s over the knee boots and darling dog with booties on distracted me much from her warm and very Russian looking fur hat!
I think Mia’s headband is a dusky lilac shade rather than tan, particularly when she’s standing very close to Zara’s coat. It’s a nice choice for a young child rather than the usual beret.
