This Week’s Extras

On Monday, Empress Masako repeated an ivory short-brimmed hat with wide lime printed hatband for the Midori Prize.

For the Four Freedoms Awards in Middelburg on Thursday, Queen Máxima repeated a vibrant green floral dress with wide brimmed burgundy sinamay hat. Princess Beatrix repeated a bumper hat in black sinamay woven with silver threads.

Yesterday, Queen Margrethe repeated her blue plaid trilby to open Gødstrup Regional Hospital.
The following new millinery designs caught my eye this week (see the comments for more):

A lovely Easter greeting from Princess Charlene of Monaco, who we warmly welcome back to public life and offer sincere wishes for her continued health.

  1. The photos of the Monaco Royals is lively and so exciting to welcome Princess Charlene back! She looks wonderful!

Happy birthday Prince Louis. He looks like such fun!!

I live the Telier Autruche Chapeau straw cloche that is quite a stunner! Speaking of stunners, the Rachel Henry red/orange ombre percher is so beautiful. I could see this on CP Mary and Queen Maxima. That is one of my absolute favorite hats.

The Christine Waring wool weave golden yellow hat is an incredible work of craftsmanship. The patience it takes to weave that design….just so incredible!

  2. Lovely to see Masako again, and in a little more color perfect for spring.

Patrick van Katwijk has some more closeups of Máxima and Beatrix from this event on his Instagram:

While I still love this dress and color combo, the hat’s construction has unfortunately not improved. It really is a shame how the hat’s poor quality has otherwise failed what could’ve been IMO one of Máxima’s best overall looks in the past few years.

  3. Empress Masako’s hat is very sweet. Still love the Burgundy sinamay on Queen Maxima. Very cute birthday photos of Prince Louis.

The ‘petite cloche rétro’ is just gorgeous.
