If we can go non-royal for a minute, I particularly liked the hat worn by Britainy Beshear, Kentucky’s First Lady, at the Kentucky Derby the other day. The hat worn by Lila, their daughter, was also interesting, but I thought a little too mature for her.

Love that new black Treacy hat for Máxima, although sad we weren’t given better views of it. Hopefully we’ll get to see it again this fall/winter.

The hat is gorgeous and it has the kink in the brim that seems to be popular with QEII. I think another 1-2″ on the hem might have been better and the top button fastened to show off the beautiful neckline.
Maxima dressed in black for memorial services, funerals etc is almost the only time I like her daytime outfits. They’re much more pulled-together and simply elegant. The outfit worn when she attended the service at the Cenotaph in London several years ago was one of her best.
These hats also caught my eye this week:
I love this and the outfit.
