Princess Anne and Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence attended the third day of racing at Ascot Racecourse today. The Princess Royal repeated her oyster sinamay hat with shallow crown and sidesweeping brim trimmed with cream feathers and apricot and cream curling quills.

I’ve previously described this hat as a great design with excellent proportions of scale, shape, and such well balanced trim… and it’s true! I just wish Anne would go to milliner Amy Morris-Adams for all of her hats.

Thoughts about these hats at the races today?

I can’t really explain why, but I find the gloves make this look feel slightly unbalanced, but otherwise this is a lovely repeat and perfect for a warm day at the races; the apricot dress really helps make this hat shine. Sir Tim looks great as usual, and his horse tie is, of course, the perfect nod to the event.
A lovely and flattering hat for the Princess Royal. While some of the Princess’s hats seem a bit extravagant with their trimming, this one is the perfect amount.
I agree, this is a pretty hat, and an attractive ensemble for Anne.
This elegant pale hat really suited The Princess with the apricot quills tying in with her apricot silk dress. And a gorgeous necklace and earrings compliment the hat too. Lovely!
I love Zara’s hat.
I really enjoy your tweets and descriptions.
