On the final day of the Dutch state visit to Sweden, Queen Máxima wore the “Laxmi” fuchsia bandeau headpiece with wonderful embroidered bead, pearl and sequin embellishment by NamJosh for Anthropologie.

The following new millinery designs caught my eye this week (see the comments for more):
Immense congratulations to the Hereditary Grand Duke and Duchess of Luxembourg on the announcement that they are expecting a second child in April. The announcement was preceded with the release of lovely snaps of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa with their three youngest grandchildren.
An extremely concerning announcement came from the House of Oranje this week about Princess Amalia’s safety. Royal Blogger Netty Liestra is mobilizing support for the princess- read how you can join in here.
And finally, a lovely shot of Queen Camilla with some of the hundreds of Paddington Bears given in tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, which will be distributed to children through Bernardo’s charity.

Maxima’s ensemble was quite daring with its three different shades of deep pink, purple, and burgundy! Not for the faint of heart. I’m sure her headband is more valuable than it appears to my aging eyes.
Of all the “caught my eye” department entries, I liked Louise Pocock’s dusky pink percher the best.
The headband can be bought for 14 US dollars. Not a high end milliner!
No… but an accessible one tapped right into contemporary style!
The prices have more than tripled since last week. I should have checked the website again before I posted.
I wonder if the fact that Queen Maxima was pictured wearing one is what led to the uptick in price?
That was my exact thought, Matthew!
These additional hats also caught my eye:
This would be a stunning Christmas hat for Kate.
Nicely done! Beautiful use of laser cutting!
This hat is stunning! I also loved the peacock/petrol blue percher hat she did for Carola Schouten a couple years ago for Prinsjesdag.
a la QEII!
This would make a stunning Ascot hat for Sophie…and wouldn’t Jake be happy!
Hahaha, you know me too well Mitten Mary! 😉
I love that we have enough history in this little community to correctly guess what hats will appeal to other readers! That warms my heart.
