101 years back to April 1922 and a visit by the then young Prince of Wales (future King Edward VII) to Japan. Empress Sadako’s Edwardian feather trimmed hat is a marvel, isn’t it?!

I wonder if the fantastic hat was in any way inspired by Hokusai and his amazing interpretation of ocean waves.
