Members of the British royal family attended the first Buckingham Palace Garden Party of the season on Wednesday
The king repeated his black silk top hat while Queen Camilla repeated a cream sinamay hat with sidesweeping brim trimmed with a black hatband, a black silk side knot and curving silk wired bow tails in black and white.

The dramatic, high-contrast swirling bow trim sets this hat apart from all of Camilla’s other cream hats (and designs in the same shape!).

The Duke of Edinburgh affirmed his black silk top hat as the most highly polished one in the family. The Duchess repeated the pink sinamay saucer hat with overlay of pleated Italian organza she wore to Royal Ascot last year. The pleating on this piece is magnificent.

Princess Anne topped a new floral dress and royal blue jacket with a matching sinamay saucer hat trimmed with large crin bow and feathers. It looks like a ready-to-wear piece. While she wears this saturated blue well, I wish some of the colours in her lovely dress would have been incorporated into the trim on the hat.

The Duchess of Gloucester repeated her sky blue sinamay hat with wide pleated brim while the Duke wore his black top hat.

Royal Hats 
I love Camilla’s, Sophie’s and Birgitte’s hats. Anne’s hat is not one that I’d purchase. The Royal Gentlemen all look exceedingly handsome and spiffy in their top hats and waist coats!
Definitely the best outfit paired with this hat for Camilla yet! While I always prefer more color, this black and white ensemble is impeccable; I agree with ChicagoChuck that Charles looks spectacular in the contrasting powder blue waistcoat.
Still a lovely hat for Sophie, although I do find the overall shape to be a little flat for my personal tastes when viewed from certain angles.
Cobalt blue is a fantastic color for Anne! While this hat is RTW and nothing special in its overall design, I personally like the monochrome choice since we all know my subdued enthusiasm for ensemble that matches too much haha.
Still a fine look from Birgitte, but we’ve seen this whole ensemble more than once; please bring out some of the hidden gems (figurative gems a.k.a. hats) I know you still have hiding in your closet, please and thank you! 😀
Overall a very good showing of hats. Camilla can carry off the wonderful drama of her hat splendidly, and it goes so well with the rest of her outfit (nice to see her wearing a Cullinan brooch too).
A great batch of hats, both new ones and those previously worn. Edward’s topper is so beautiful, and it appears to fit the best also. Charles looks very well.
Yes, the DofE does have a mighty nice topper! But the star of the show for me was not a hat but, rather, His Majesty’s powder blue waistcoat and pink & blue striped shirt! He loves that grey morning suit but I’ve never before seen him wear anything other than the grey waistcoat made out of the same material. I’ve been considering a few similar shirts and seeing this may have pushed me to have them tailored!
While I notice the hats, I SOOOO appreciate your eagle-eyed assessment of the waistcoats!
Such a great hat on Camilla, she does these summery wide brims with embellishment so well – and it’s a perfect counterpart to the dress (and the Cullinan)
Sophie’s hat is also stunning, alas the sun means you can’t see the details too well, but I bet up close it’s quite amazing.
