Royal Hats 
Lady Alexandra Harper, Countess Mountbatten’s daughter (and mother of the Duke of Edinburgh’s youngest godchild) wore a deep green bandeau with statement bow
Great to see such a large gathering after so long. Great to see that large saucer hat back out again on Lady Sarah after so many years. Margarita’s bandeau looks good, and you know those flowers are exquisite with it being an RTM piece.
I adore Birgitte in these shirtwaist dresses, but I don’t think this hat paired well here; the shape feels too casual (looks like one of those raffia sunhats, although it’s made from sinamay) and the bright aqua feels a bit jarring with the dark navy. Still, I wouldn’t mind seeing them both on her again, just not together. Sylvana’s headband worked well, but I was disappointed with how minimalist she went this time considering she always brings out some interesting millinery. Helen’s hat offers up unique movement without being over the top; an excellent choice!
Wish we had better views of Julia’s hat; while it’s a classic shape, I bet the details are wonderful. Flora looked chic in her pillbox, although I’m not sold on Zenouska’s hat (although more views of it may change my mind).
Nice to see this Breton hat out on Marie-Christine again. While overall I like this disc hat for Sophie, I think the additional pillbox crown on top was unnecessary and instead added some awkward weight and height to what was otherwise a streamlined design that mirrored her streamlined pantsuit. Not the typical portrait hat we’re used to on Gabriella, but she was still chic as always and remains one of Treacy’s best ambassadors.
Finally, the Countess Mountbatten of Burma was very elegant in her dove grey ensemble and the lattice trim on the back of her pillbox was a delightful addition. India Hicks looked on point as she usually does, and the black accessories with the grey dress was perfect IMO.
Some very elegant hats and looks from the ladies of the extended Royal family. It must have been heart warming for the Queen to be surrounded by so many members of her family after a very difficult year.
For me, Lady Gabriella, Lady Margarita, Lady Frederick and Lady Helen Taylor were favourites.
It was lovely to see the Countess of St. Andrews accompany her father-in-law.
On reflection, I too thought the Duchess of Cambridge’s hat was a little showy but Prince Philip might have approved.
Some more very beautiful toppers. The Kent’s, esp Helen nailing it as per. And Margarita is the spitting image of her mother and looked wonderful.
Countess Mountbatten is one supremely elegant lady, and looked so good and so appropriate for this event.
Memorial services are such a different occasion to funerals – they’re joyous celebrating a life lived well and to the full. Am glad the Queen managed to attend. Her coat looked beautiful along with the Grima Ruby Brooch – my favourite of all her brooches.
I thought Kate won the day – although it wasn’t a race. A truly beautiful hat. Prince Philip saw many hats in his time and I think he’d have liked this one.
Not quite sure about the DoGloucester’s choice – more suited to Ascot or a wedding perhaps. I hope she dyes it before it’s next outing as the colour isn’t great on her.
Lady Sarah – refined and elegant, as always. Loved her whimsical shoes with their polka dots.
Sophie Wessex’s hat was better from the side than looking at it full-frontal.
Camilla’s feather had a beautiful sheen, her slightly higher shoes with the block heel looked good too.
Countess Mountbatten’s outfit was perfect but I think the colour wasn’t quite right with her colouring.
Lady Gabriella’s hat nicely echoed the bow of her coat.
Lady Sarah’s style and hats are consistently lovely.
Lady Helen’s hat has a wonderful lightness.
The Duchess of Gloucester’s hat was meant for a completely different outfit.

Gabriella is like the Duchess of Cambridge…she looks great in all hats. Her beret is a nice, streamlined departure from her large picture hats (which she always looks great in).

I thought it was showily inappropriate for a memorial service. Same with the hat.
