For the third day of racing, Princess Anne repeated a grey sinamay stovepipe hat trimmed with a grey sinamay bow edged in blue ribbon, a layered blue ribbon hatband and a spray of grey feathers. Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence repeated a grey felt top hat.
It’s such a well balanced hat and pairs beautifully with Anne’s brocade coat and dress. How I wish she went to Amy Morris Adams for all her hats.

The whole look is magnificent, the straight lines of the hat a perfect counterpoint for the puffed sleeves and embellished neckline on the dress. Everything is in great proportion, from the hat’s scale and brim tilt to the skirt and sleeve lengths… perhaps except for the belt, but that’s a minor quibble. On it’s own, this is a great hat but as part of this whole look, it’s simply perfect.

Royal Hats 
The queen is winning the jewelry stakes by a mile this week, but Zara is unbeatable on the hat/outfit front. Another fabulous look today. I love the dress and hat pairing. And the giant pom-pom is especially fun- a really wonderful modern interpretation instead of a giant flower or something.
I agree with Nan, Annie Miall is worth her weight in gold, Zara always looks fabulous but she really shines at Ascot. Anne looks great too, this hat shape is so flattering on her and the muted color scheme looks great for this time of year. I like that the gents are mixing it up with grey top hats in general, but also that they are pairing grey suits with black hats and vice versa.
no mention about Princess Margaret’s daughter unless somewhere else.
